I had a great conversation yesterday with Chelsea.
We talked about all sorts of stuff including, but not limited to: the quality of tijuana flats guacamole, family history, small christian schools and my college roommates.
But the part worth sharing involves a phrase that has stuck in my head: “the holy Spirit is all caught up in that.” We’ve both found things we love doing and seem to be good at. It involves real investment from us, moments of vulnerability in that we genuinely care about what we’re doing, and some hard work.
We were working through why those things are so fulfilling. We decided it’s because the Holy Spirit is all caught up in them. Check it…
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness. And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.
See, people, this is an important truth. Because of what Jesus went through, you have the Spirit of God in you. This is a serious game changer. It means that as you work, serve, love you will taste life. It’s the sort of thing the world chases after and only finds shadows of in money, entertainment, and sex.
Where are you finding life?
Nothing coming to mind? Ask God to lead you into it, then do something that sounds fun.
Trust me, the Holy Spirit will be all caught up in it.
